On The Road
Part 5: IC3: Going Home
I’m a little late with this one, but it’s been a busy week.
We had another early start. The plan was to wait until five to get up, but I woke up at one and couldn’t go back to sleep. Larry got up to go to the bathroom around two, and we decided to go ahead and get an early start.
We had a few extra stops at rest areas, mainly so I could go splash some water on my face and wake up. After about halfway, I finally felt awake and wasn’t falling asleep as I drove.
I will say it was a disappointing convention. It was fun, but I made very little money. I definitely didn’t pay for the trip, and that’s the minimum I shoot for. Part of the reason I’m doing more out-of-state conventions and conventions I’ve never tabled at before is to spread the word about my comics and get them in front of people that haven’t seen them before. So while I’m hoping for some good money, that’s not the main point. But if I can’t at least make expenses, I can’t keep doing them
I made it home around two, so had the rest of the day to rest up from the weekend. SInce I have so many shows in a row and so close in time I leave everything in the car, so there’s no loading or unloading.
Until next time.
