Something Good
Assorted Crisis Events
I’m late to the party with this one. I’ve been reading how good this series is but I just never picked it up. When I saw the first collection in my LCS, BSI Comics in Metairie, I decided to give it a chance. Honestly I’m not that familiar with the writer Deniz Camp. He’s worked mostly for Marvel Comics and there’s not too many titles there I read. I was going to pick up his Ultimate Avengers but by the time I was it was too many issues for me to want to go back and get if I liked it.
This is one of the most unusual approaches to a a comic book I’ve read. It is an anthology title, but it’s all tied together under a overall story background. Each story tells the story of someone, some city, some event that is occurring in a world that is falling about from an assortment of time crisis.
And these stories are really good. I think the weakest of the stories is probably the first issue, but each issue just gets better and better. As good as the writing is, the art more than keeps up its end of things. Eric Zawadzki with Jordie Bellaire and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou provide art that is just as amazing as the writing.
I have to agree with all of those singing the praises of this book. It is one of the best comics on the market right now. It is that good.
